DIVERSITY, REPRESENTATION & Inclusion
At All Our Mothers, when we talk about diversity, representation and inclusion in motherhood, we are talking about a range of topics. They include the silenced experiences of all mothers, the mothers who are marginalized because of race, sexuality, gender identity and (dis)ability, the single mothers and the mothers who suffer child loss. As we look at motherhood through an intersectional lens, this list becomes increasingly broad. Our goal is to promote representation for all of those mothers whose stories are often cast aside.
To do this, we are not only holding space for diverse groups of mothers to be seen and heard but we are also helping organizations, brands, creatives and media outlets to see how they can do better. By encouraging reflection on research techniques, marketing strategies, creative direction and narratives, we are enabling opportunities to shift the rhetoric and ensure more representation for the many types of mothers in this world.
